JTBTHEARTIST immerses himself in the raw energy of hip hop and rap for this latest release “1 Step 2 Step” , particularly this amazing version that you can check out below. The artist and his music has a tight connection, the music flows brilliantly, the rhythm is consistent and snappy and when it falls away everything smashes back into life in absolute, satisfying unison. It’s a great performance. The song and the video itself has a few specific riffs and moments that really stay with you after listening, and although it does feel like an amazing track, it simultaneously feels like a step in a slightly more polished and energizing direction. It’s definitely his strongest release yet, and I was a fan regardless.

From a production perspective the track is incredibly impressive. First of all, certain elements of this soundscape have a quality that comes through with so much memorable character. The song is nothing like either of any other Hip Hop tracks, but you get something out of the instrumentation that is blissful to experience, unlike the average Hip Hop and rap song in which it is the melody or the key line that stays with you. Secondly, whether it’s the chemistry of the video and the audio driving this individuality or not, the set-up is refreshingly unusual. The entire first half of the song is performed melodically, the ideas are sung, the whole thing seems to present itself fully and you briefly fall into complacency thinking you know how it all will go now. The latter half of the track, however, introduces the rap vocal – re-crafts the experience, re-directs your thoughts, keeps the mood completely relevant and fits brilliantly, as with everything else. It adds just enough of that something fresh to really set in stone the strength of the release. There’s so much creativity, passion, and professionalism here. This amazing soul is definitely worth looking out for.

As the audience you should witness this track and “1 Step 2 Step” has a strong central concept that works on a number of levels. If you already felt that you were strange, you now feel less alone, and perhaps a little proud. If you hadn’t realized you were. Either way, you’ll probably listen again. The music has such great energy that when it finishes there’s undoubtedly a quiet and rather unsettling void that takes its place.
