“Rewind” by Lil Hobbit was premiered on Youtube on March 14, 2021, hoping for a dark hip hop hit.
Lil Hobbit is the stage name for Matt Carrara, a midwest dark hip-hop rapper, orphan, and recovered addict. Music has been the therapy healing of his mental illness and addiction. As of recent, he’s been regularly performing around midwest venues with his gritty and high-energy stage presence. He was greatly influenced by his roots in a travelling metal band. He infuses distorted 808s and popular hip-hop tropes with dark metal lyrics and themes to create his distinct “Lil Hobbit” sound.
Lil Hobbit is based in Houston and has been in the music industry since 2019. He is creating Dark Hip hop and Emo style songs with a distinct Lil hobbit sound.
Matt shares his experiences of being a drug addict before being a dark hip hop artist in this song, “Rewind.” He says, “Drugs got me stuck in that rewind.” Matt encourages healthy behaviour, although you are a drug addict, and he has shown that getting rid of that addiction is possible if you really need it.
