Priest Da Nomad is a well-talented, awesome soul, the Washington DC hip hop pioneer is back with a new single called “Guess Who” to all the audience out there with a great vibe.
The song possesses one of the most memorable and provocative hooks I’ve heard in a long time. The melody washes over you in a way that makes any length of time seem too short, increasing the chances of you pressing repeat, perhaps again and again. Awesome-sounding music makes every moment brighter in itself, but when you get the songwriting chemistry just right, which is rare, and difficult, something about it just changes your entire day. One for the long-term playlist, for sure. As the audience, we have to give a round of applause to this amazing soul “Priest Da Nomad” for bringing us this amazing piece of work.
Without a doubt “Guess Who” is an intricate and fascinating song, well structured – every moment offers something new and unexpected, yet is always in keeping with the storytelling and mood of the song. The hook is incredible; the more you hear it, the more it takes hold. The particular line chosen has the unique qualities of being unheard elsewhere, holding the fierce power of the key melodic moment, and being both fresh yet completely relevant to most who will listen.
There’s a distinct level of focus to the songwriting, and this speaks volumes for the artist as a writer and composer – not succumbing to any particular genre or style, and knowing exactly what it is that he’s about. The sense of character is clear and consistent and this too adds to the appeal. You also get a superb soundscape towards the end of the track that throws in a further sense of style and personality. A great piece of music and writing.
